This 50th anniversary timepiece pays tribute to the “Silver Snoopy Award” that OMEGA received from NASA astronauts in 1970, in recognition of the brand’s contributions to space exploration, including the Apollo 13 mission.
The 42 mm stainless steel case is presented on a blue nylon fabric strap, featuring the trajectory of the Apollo 13 mission embossed on its lining. The silver dial features blue PVD angle-shaped hour markers and hands, along with an embossed silver Snoopy medallion on the blue subdial at 9 o’clock.
On the NAIAD LOCK caseback, a representation of the far side of the Moon is decorated on the sapphire crystal using micro-structured metallisation. An animated Snoopy in his Command and Service Module (CSM) appears on a magical hand that rotates when the chronograph function is activated.
Behind Snoopy, an Earth disc rotates once per minute in synchronisation with the watch’s small seconds hand.
Along with black engravings on the caseback in tribute to Apollo 13 and OMEGA’s Silver Snoopy Award, there is also a blue ceramic [ZrO2] bezel ring with a white enamel tachymeter scale. The non-limited watch is powered by the OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861 and comes in a special presentation box.
The movement is unaffected by exposure to strong magnetic fields, including those greater than 1.5 tesla or 15,000 gauss.

In 1970, OMEGA received the prestigious “Silver Snoopy Award” from NASA’s astronauts. The award recognised OMEGA’s unique contributions to space exploration, as well as the Speedmaster’s role in helping to save Apollo 13. Now, 50 years later, a special Snoopy watch has been created in honour of the occasion.
To faithfully represent the iconic design history of the Speedmaster, OMEGA included a 42 mm stainless steel case inspired by the legendary style of the fourth-generation chronograph—famous for being the first watch worn on the Moon.

The silver dial features a laser-engraved Ag925 marking and presents our famous beagle as an embossed silver medallion on the blue subdial at 9 o’clock. He appears wearing his iconic spacesuit, recreated in the same style as the famous Silver Snoopy Award pin.
The legendary tachymeter scale appears in white enamel on a blue ceramic [ZrO2] bezel ring and pays tribute to the Speedmaster’s history with the traditional dot positioned over the number ninety. The colour combination continues across the silver dial, with angular hour markers and hands in blue PVD.

On April 11, 1970, Apollo 13, NASA’s third crewed mission intended to land on the Moon, departed for the Fra Mauro highlands to continue humanity’s exploration of the lunar surface.
Two days into the flight, an oxygen tank ruptured and damaged the service module. The lunar landing was cancelled, and the mission’s only objective became bringing the three astronauts safely home.
With the spacecraft powered down to conserve energy, the crew had to manually time a critical engine burn. They had exactly 14 seconds to correct their trajectory back to Earth. The burn was timed using an OMEGA Speedmaster.
Sheltered inside the lunar module, the crew safely splashed down in the South Pacific on April 17, 1970, bringing to an end what NASA would later describe as “a successful failure.”
In recognition of the Speedmaster’s role, OMEGA received the Silver Snoopy Award, a rare honour presented by NASA astronauts for outstanding contributions to the safety and success of human space flight.
